I do not treat teeth; I treat people. The tooth does not walk in by itself … there is a person attached to it! I have been practicing dentistry for more than 20 years and nothing pleases me more than the privilege of meeting so many wonderful individuals with unique dental health needs, and having the opportunity to provide exceptional dental care for them.

Whether recommending the proper toothpaste for sensitive teeth or surgically placing a dental implant, I am thrilled to be able to take care of my patients and experience the exhilaration of providing quality service and care. I appreciate people’s concerns and anxieties associated with dental treatment, and I am devoted to meeting your individual treatment needs.

Staying current with cutting-edge technology and continuing education keeps me excited about dentistry and greatly benefits my patients. However, my favorite aspect of the work is the relationships I form, the trust I earn, and the satisfaction knowing that my patients have become a part of our dental family.

I was born in Zagreb, Croatia, and immigrated to Canada when I was eight months old. My parents came to Canada with one suitcase and me. I grew up in a wonderful ethnically diverse blue-collar city: Windsor Ontario, the automotive capital of Canada. Here I learned the importance of hard work, family values, and community.

After graduating from the University of Detroit Mercy, I completed a one-year general practice residency at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. A chance meeting during a trauma surgery opened up an interview opportunity in Northern Virginia. I fell in love with the area and spent the next 20 years as a resident here.

I currently reside in Annandale with my hometown sweetheart and wife Nancy, my amazing twin daughters Madeline and Daniela, and my favorite little boy in the world, my son Nathaniel.

When I am not practicing dentistry, I am completely immersed in being a super Dad: attending swim team, travel soccer, theater, cabaret, and choir with my children and wife. Involvement in the community through volunteering with these activities keeps me active all year round. I am passionate about spending time enjoying my family and our dear friends.

Appreciating the importance and value of the “little things” that become the greatest moments and memories, and help shape us into being productive positive members of our local community, is my greatest passion.

I was raised in a hard-working, ethnically diverse community. The relationships, values, and lessons learned there I bring with me to my profession and career. I bring this to my office and live it every day with my patients. I treat patients how I treat my family and friends. I was taught to be respectful, honest, empathetic, and compassionate; and to work continuously and hard to strive to better myself and serve others well. Dentistry has allowed me to share myself and the best parts of me with my family of patients.
